With the rapid development of the plastics industry, plastics and plastic products have been widely used in many industries, and the requirements for molds have become higher and higher. In the past, the traditional stamping mold method can no longer meet the current requirements. Injection molding and blow molding are two different processes for mold product processing. There is a big difference between the two in the processing technology, and each has its own characteristics. The following editor will introduce to you the differences between injection molds and blow molds, so that you will know which mold is more suitable for your needs when you choose.

1. What is an injection mold

Injection mold is also thermoplastic injection molding. This production process is to melt the plastic material first, and then inject it into the film cavity. As long as the melted plastic enters the mold, it will be shaped by the cold and processed into you. The required appearance shape, and the shape you get is usually the appearance shape of the final product, so no other processing is required.

In addition, the injection mold processing technology can very well control some details in the processing process, such as protrusions, ribs, threads, etc., which can be formed in one step in the injection mold.

2. What is a blow mold

Blow molding process, also known as hollow blow molding, is a very fast-growing plastic processing method. The principle of its processing is to put the thermoplastic resin in the softened state or the tubular plastic parison obtained by injection molding into the mold, and inject compressed air into it after the mold is closed, so that the plastic parison expands and Tightly adhere to the inner wall of the mold, and after cooling and demoulding, you can get the hollow product you need.

What needs to be mentioned in particular is that the processing technology of blow molding is very similar to the blow molding of hollow products in principle, but it does not need to use molds in the production process, which is completely different from the processing method of injection molds. Judging from the classification of plastic processing technology, the molding process of blow molding molds is generally included in the extrusion process category. According to the manufacturing method of the parison, the blow molding process can be divided into extrusion blow molding and injection blow molding. Recently, there are two new developments: multi-layer blow molding and stretch blow molding.

3. Where are the differences between injection molds and blow molds?

In fact, the key difference between injection molds and blow molds is reflected in the presentation form of the product. Generally speaking, the products manufactured by injection molding process are thicker, and the production is relatively simpler, and the raw material requirements for production are not so high. However, the blow molding process is different. The products manufactured in this way are relatively thin and transparent, and it is easy to see subtle defects. Because of this, the blow molding mold has higher requirements for processing technology. Moreover, there will be relatively high requirements for the toughness and stretchability of the processed raw materials.

In short, whether we choose injection molds or blow molds, we must choose products produced by a regular enterprise. Shenzhen Kaidi Mold Manufacturing Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2009. It is a subsidiary of Hong Kong Hansen International. Its business scope includes product development and design, mold manufacturing, injection molding, die-casting, product batch assembly and other professional services.
